Notification Preferences
MessageFuture lets you control how and when you receive alerts. Your notification preferences are saved per account and apply across both the web dashboard and the mobile app.
Accessing Notification Preferences
- Web: Go to Settings → Notifications
- Mobile: Go to Settings → Notifications
Push Notifications
The Push Notifications toggle controls whether MessageFuture sends device-level alerts to your mobile app.
| State | Behaviour |
|---|---|
| On | You receive push notifications for message deliveries, Guardian activity, schedule updates, and Twin invites on your mobile device |
| Off | No push notifications are sent to your device. You can still see all activity in the in-app notification bell |
Push notifications are mobile-only. The web dashboard does not support browser push notifications. All web alerts are surfaced exclusively through the in-app notification bell.
To receive push notifications, you must also grant notification permission to the MessageFuture app in your device’s system settings:
- iOS: Settings → MessageFuture → Notifications → Allow Notifications
- Android: Settings → Apps → MessageFuture → Notifications → Allow
Quiet Hours
Quiet Hours lets you define a time window during which push notifications are suppressed – even if Push Notifications is turned on. This is useful if you don’t want to be disturbed during sleeping hours or work blocks.
Enabling Quiet Hours
- Toggle Quiet Hours to On
- Set a Start Time (e.g. 22:00)
- Set an End Time (e.g. 07:00)
- Changes save automatically
During the quiet window, push notifications are held back. They do not disappear – they are delivered as soon as the quiet window ends, or remain visible in the notification bell whenever you next open the app.
Time Format
Quiet hours use a 24-hour (HH:MM) format. All times are interpreted in your saved account timezone (set in Settings → Profile).
What Quiet Hours Does Not Affect
Quiet Hours only suppresses push notifications. The following are never blocked by Quiet Hours:
- Transactional emails (schedule confirmations, delivery notifications, Guardian invites)
- In-app notification bell alerts
- Message deliveries themselves – messages are still delivered at their scheduled time regardless of your quiet hours setting
