Managing Your Subscription

This article explains how to upgrade, downgrade, cancel, and otherwise manage your MessageFuture subscription – including how to update your payment method and download invoices.


Upgrading Your Plan

To upgrade to a higher plan at any time:

  1. Go to Settings → Current Plan (web) or tap your plan badge in the Settings tab (mobile)
  2. Tap Upgrade
  3. Select your desired plan and billing cycle (monthly or yearly)
  4. Complete payment via Stripe Checkout
  5. Your new plan is activated immediately and your credit allocation is added to your balance

There is no waiting period. You have access to your new plan’s features and credits the moment payment clears.


Downgrading Your Plan

To move to a lower plan:

  1. Go to Settings → Manage Subscription
  2. Tap Open Billing Portal – this opens the Stripe Customer Portal in your browser
  3. In the portal, select Change Plan and choose the lower tier
  4. Confirm the change

Downgrade changes take effect at the end of your current billing period. You retain access to your current plan’s features until then.

Example: If you are on Pro (monthly) and downgrade to Standard on the 15th of the month, you continue on Pro until the end of that billing month, then Standard begins.


Cancelling Your Subscription

To cancel your subscription:

  1. Go to Settings → Manage Subscription
  2. Tap Open Billing Portal
  3. In the Stripe portal, select Cancel Plan
  4. Confirm the cancellation

Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. After that, your account reverts to the Free plan. Your messages, contacts, Twins, and credits are not deleted – only future credit allocations stop.

MessageFuture supports click-to-cancel – you can cancel entirely within the billing portal in a few taps, with no hidden steps or waiting periods.


Updating Your Payment Method

  1. Go to Settings → Manage Subscription
  2. Tap Open Billing Portal
  3. Select Payment Methods
  4. Add a new card or update your existing one

Changes apply to the next billing cycle immediately.


Downloading Invoices

All invoices for past subscription charges and credit pack purchases are available in the Stripe Customer Portal:

  1. Go to Settings → Manage Subscription
  2. Tap Open Billing Portal
  3. Select Billing History
  4. Click Download next to any invoice

Invoices are PDF documents formatted for accounting and tax purposes.


Reactivating a Cancelled Subscription

If you previously cancelled and want to re-subscribe:

  1. Go to Settings → Current Plan
  2. Tap Reactivate or Upgrade
  3. Select your plan and complete payment

Any credits already in your balance from a previous subscription are preserved and available immediately.
