Creating a Twin – Step by Step
Creating an AI Twin takes you through an 8-step guided questionnaire. Each step builds one part of the Twin’s personality and voice. You can move through the steps at your own pace – the wizard auto-saves your progress every 2 seconds, so you can leave and come back without losing anything.

Before You Begin
You will need:
- A name and a description of the person this Twin represents
- Some time to think about their personality, values, and typical phrases
- Their explicit consent if the Twin represents someone other than yourself (see AI Twin Consent & Data Policy)
The 8 Steps
Step 1 – Basics

Step 2 – Personality
Select at least 2 personality traits that describe this person. Available traits include:
Warm · Analytical · Humorous · Patient · Direct · Creative · Empathetic · Adventurous · Nurturing · Pragmatic · Philosophical · Optimistic · Calm · Encouraging
You can select as many as feel accurate. These traits directly influence the tone and style of the Twin’s responses.
Step 3 – Phrases & Sayings
Enter the catchphrases, favourite quotes, or typical expressions this person uses. These are literal phrases the Twin may incorporate into its responses to feel more authentic.
Examples:
– “Everything works out in the end.”
– “Let me tell you a story about that.”
– “Don’t overthink it.”
Step 4 – Core Values
Describe in a few sentences what matters most to this person – their guiding principles, what they stand for, and what they would want others to remember about their outlook on life.
Example: “Family always comes first. Hard work and honesty matter more than shortcuts. Always be kind, even when it’s hard.”
Step 5 – Advice Style
Choose how this person typically gives guidance. Select the style that best matches:

Step 6 – Boundaries (Optional)
List any topics the Twin should never discuss. These are completely optional but useful if there are subjects the person would have found inappropriate, painful, or simply off-limits.
Examples: “Never discuss politics or religion. Avoid discussing the 2019 family dispute.”
Step 7 – Main Instructions (Optional)
The Main Instructions field (also called “Golden Rules”) is an advanced, free-text override. These are direct instructions to the AI – they take precedence over everything else.
Use this field if you want to:
– Enforce specific behaviours not captured by the questionnaire
– Set strict rules about how the Twin should respond in certain situations
– Add context that doesn’t fit neatly into the other steps
Maximum length: 2,000 characters.
Tip: Most users leave this blank. The questionnaire steps above are usually sufficient to create an authentic Twin. Only use Main Instructions if you have a specific, clear need.
Step 8 – Consent & Review
The final step shows you a complete summary of everything you’ve entered. Review it carefully.

Before the Twin can be activated, you must check the consent checkbox, which confirms:
- You have the right to create a Twin of this person
- You understand the Twin is an AI representation and may not perfectly reflect the real person
- You agree to MessageFuture’s terms regarding AI-generated content
Once you tick the box and tap Create Twin, the Twin is activated immediately and ready to chat.
Auto-Save and Draft Twins
The questionnaire auto-saves your progress every 2 seconds starting from Step 1. A draft Twin is created in your account the moment you begin.
Auto-save pauses on the Consent step (Step 8). Your data will not be written to the server until you explicitly activate the Twin by confirming consent. This ensures a partially completed Twin is never accidentally activated without your knowledge.
If you leave the wizard before completing Step 8, your draft Twin is saved and will appear in your Twins list with a draft status badge. Tap it to resume from where you left off.
